An often-overlooked vegetable, the leek is a member of the allium family along with onions, garlic, scallions, shallots and chives. While it may look intimidating, this vegetable is quite simple and adds unique flavor to each dish it touches.

In this clip, Rich shows how to properly cut, clean and prep the leek so you can take advantage of this versatile vegetable. Rich also shares some of his favorite ways to cook and use leeks.
